Error 'Your Document could not be created' When Trying to Open the Asset Addition WebADI Document (Doc ID 1588056.1)

1 - Navigate to Internet Explorer: Tools->Internet Options->Security->Custom Level

Set the following:
Download unsigned ->Prompt
Allow status bar updates via script->Enable
Allow Scriplets ->Enable
'Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as 'Safe' is set to 'Prompt'.

2 - For intranet/internet, please add your own domain as trusted sites.

3 -Close all Internet Explorer sessions.

4- Also request DBA to run Adadmin utility to "Generate Product JAR Files" and then Bounce Apache before retesting.

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

NOTE: Log in with an Administrator account to save the following changes.

(1) Open Internet Explorer browser window, click on Tools Menu.

(2) When the Tools menu appears, click "Internet Options" at the bottom of the Tools menu.

(3) Click on the Security tab.

(4) When the Security page appears, click the "Internet" icon in the "Select a zone" box and then
click the "Custom Level.. " button.

(5) When the "Security Settings" dialog box appears, scroll down to "Scripting" on the menu.
Enable "Allow status bar updates via script" Select OK

(6) You may receive a Warning. Please select "Yes"

(7) Finally, click "OK" to close the Internet Options dialog box.

(8) Close the browser window so that new settings can be used.

(9) From the Excel Menu, choose Tools -> Macro -> Security. Set 'Medium' as the Security Level

  • Click the round MS Office button, scroll to bottom and select Excel Options
  • Select Trust Center
  • Click Trust Center Options button
  • Select Macro Settings
  • Select Enable All Macros

(10) Recheck the issue and migrate it to appropriate environments.

For Vista:

(1) From the Internet Explorer Menu, choose Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> 'Local intranet'-> Custom Level button, set 'File Download' to 'Enable'.

(2) From the Excel Menu, choose Tools -> Macro -> Security. Set 'Medium' as the Security Level.

  •   Click the round MS Office button, scroll to bottom and select Excel Options
  •   Select Trust Center
  •   Click Trust Center Options button
  •   Select Macro Settings
  •   Select Enable All Macros

(3) Under the Trusted Publishers tab 'Trust access to Visual Basic Project' is checked.

(4) When connected to server running Web ADI e.g. <HOST>.<DOMAIN>.  The word Internet will appear towards the right. Double-click on it. Select Trusted sites from the list of zones. Click the Sites button. Unselect the check box "Require server..." and click on the Add button. This will add your server to the Trusted zone. Select Close and Ok.

For Mozilla Firefox (version 3.5 and later):

(1) use the following path

Navigation: Tools -> options -> Content (icon) -> Enable Javascript -> Advanced
In the Advanced window, select the "Check status bar text"

(2) From the Excel Menu, choose Tools -> Macro -> Security. Set 'Medium' as the Security Level

  • Click the round MS Office button, scroll to bottom and select Excel Options
  • Select Trust Center
  • Click Trust Center Options button
  • Select Macro Settings
  • Select Enable All Macros
